Taking Care of Your Computer



There are many reasons why you should take care of your computer. Number one is that there is a large investment for most people, and you would probably like to keep running as long as possible.
There are several things you do to have a longer life of your PC, hardware and software. There is always a good idea to clean your computer to keep. A clean computer will run faster and last longer.
Here are some options for cleaning and maintenance of the Software (operating system) on your PC.
1st Run Disk Defragmenter at least once a month or two. In Windows XP, this is to be made to your Start menu, point to All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, and then select Disk Defragmenter. The defragmenter will help ensure your hard drive files are in the right place on the computer and should improve the overall speed of your browser.
2nd Clean up old files. When you install / uninstall software frequently It can leave many unwanted files in the temporary folder and system folder. In Windows XP, you should run Disk Cleanup once a while to clean up things. This utility can be found by clicking on the Start menu, point to All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, and then select "Disk Cleanup"
3rd Scan for viruses. Viruses can also cause your computer to slow and not work at all. You should always install a good virus scanner and keep up to date. Some well known virus scanners are Norton, McAfee and AVG.
4th Scan for other malware. Other malware can also spyware, adware, keyloggers, and Trojan horses. These parts of the software can get installed without your knowledge when you install another program or visit a website. You can slow down your PC considerably. Spybot Search & Destroy and Adaware are two known malware scanner.
Here are some ways you can easily keep your hardware.
1st Clean the dust.> Computers are notorious for accumulating dust. Each time a while, you should open it and clean it out. This can use a vacuum cleaner or a can of dust remover can be done.
2nd Keep your PC cool. You should always make sure that your computer will keep in a well ventilated area. This will help prevent your PC cool and therefore the life of your hardware to be extended.
3rd Buy high-quality hardware. When buying new components for your PC to try and get good quality parts.If you receive components from reputable manufacturers, you can be sure that you get good technical support and the parts have been crafted well and no problems with other hardware.
Theses are just a few little tips to help you that your computer for a long time. There are problems many other things that can be done, but by following some tips you can be sure you computer to reduce future.
